The 1994 NBL season was the 16th season of competition since its establishment in 1979. A total of 14 teams contest the league. Melbourne Tigers finished top of the league with their captain, Andrew Gaze winning the regular season MVP.

Notably, Coach of the year was Brett Brown who went on to coach in the NBA as an assistant under Greg Popovich in San Antonio and then as the head coach of the Philadelphia 76ers.

NBL finals were played between North Melbourne Giants VS Adelaide 76ers with the Giants winning. Finals MVP was Paul Rees.
